Collectible Knives & Dutch Law

All knives we sell are legal in the Netherlands and intended for adult collectors.

18+ collectables

Possession of a weapon in the lightest category is legal for people aged 18 and over. Our replica knives are sold exclusively as collectables.

Carrying such items in public is prohibited. Displaying them at home, for example on a wall, is allowed.

Why replica knives can still be treated as weapons

Dutch law also covers objects that, given their nature or the circumstances in which they are found, can reasonably be assumed to be intended to cause harm or threaten to do so. In practice this means everyday objects such as a baton, screwdriver, axe, pocket knife or kitchen knife can also be treated as a weapon when carried in public, for example during a night out or at a concert or football match — and can be confiscated.

Belgium

In Belgium, banned weapons include spring or switchblades (also called flick knives or stilettos), butterfly knives and blank weapons disguised as another object, such as a knife hidden in a belt or pen.

Be aware that some police officers apply the law broadly and consider all locking knives prohibited, including ordinary folding knives with a lock such as Opinel knives and larger Swiss army knives.
